Project: Re-location of the Sandwell Office, to a new Office
facility at West Bromwich.

BACKGROUND:
BCCBL approached McCarthy & Associates to provide consultancy services for the proposed re-location of the Sandwell office, to a new office at West Bromwich. McCarthy & Associates initially provided feasibility costs, based on providing accomodation for 6 permanent staff, and 10 ‘Hot desk’ positions.
Following on from the feasibility exercise, board approval was given for the move.
SERVICES PROVIDED:
Under a very ‘Fast track’ programme, space planning was provided to accommodate 16 staff,
with two meeting rooms, hot desk storage. New Partitioning was provided for the meeting
rooms, floor boxes were moved, new Cat 5 data/voice outlets were provided.
New hot desking was provided, with ‘plug in’ Cat 5 outlets provided, above worksurface level
in screens, to allow staff to connect in very quickly to their network. McCarthy & Associates
designed ‘Garage’ units which provided storage for ‘puppy’ pedestals, i.e. Remote BCCBL staff could have their own pedestal, and collect and use when in the Office.
Full move management was provided for the relocation of Staff from Sandwell, with their storage, including IT and Server, working closely with BCCBL IT staff. The move commenced over a weekend starting on Friday evening, with the new office up and running on Monday morning.
