Background
The Voluntary Aided Madani High School and Community Centre is the new home of the
Leicester Islamic Academy (LIA) secondary school.
One of the oldest independent Muslim schools in Britain, the LIA was established in 1981
and started with just seven girls of secondary age the new Madani high school will provide
education to 600 secondary school pupils.The school has been at the top of the GCSE
league table over the past 6 years, with A to C pass rates in 5 or more GCSEs. It has the
highest value- added score in the county and one of the best nationally.
Services provided
McCarthy &Associates were selected to provide the loose furniture, space planning, colour
scheme specification and procurement for the new Madani High School.
McCarthy & Associates furnished teaching areas including 16 classrooms, art graphics
rooms, music rooms, and science labs. We also provided the furniture for the head teachers
suite, general offices, library, sick rooms, meeting rooms, dining areas, assembly halls, exam
halls, conference room, reception and waiting areas.
Within the waiting areas, McCarthy & Associates were asked to provide a solution to
the clients requirement for segregation and sourced a retractable screen as a solution to
their needs.
