Job Title: Small Works/Contracts Manager

Company and Location: McCarthy and Associates, Coventry, West Midlands

Job Description: The Small Works manager will be responsible for:

  • Managing primarily internal fit-out and refurbishment projects on a day-today basis.

  • Ensuring they come in within budget, are completed on time, and are profitable.

  • Ensuring projects are managed and controlled in line with Company Operational procedures and relevant legislation

  • Supervising contractors, liaising with clients and other departments within the Company during projects.

  • Completing and submitting time-sheets and mileage sheets on a weekly basis.
Skills / Experience Required :

Commercial qualification or equivalent required, and / or a minimum of 2-3 years experience in a fit-out or Construction-related environment or in a similar role.

Detailed knowledge of the commercial design & build industry and evidence of relevant training and experience required.

Ability to show understanding of Local Authority legislation, Planning Applications and Building Regulations Approvals.

Good organisational skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.

Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Experience of Microsoft Office software essential, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Project.

Training Programme:
  • All statutory training – (ie, ISO9001, BS7799, Health and Safety).
  • Sales Admin and Accounts procedural training.
  • Legislative awareness through seminars and workshops as and when required.
Role Integration:

The role of Small Works/Contracts Manager for the company is important as there are responsibilities to the Projects Director and to clients to ensure projects are successful.

Constant liaison with Sales Admin and Accounts departments to ensure compliance with the company’s Operational procedures is vital.

Key to this role is effective communication at all levels, a customer-led approach with emphasis on building this aspect of the business, together with a positive and helpful attitude to both staff and customers alike.

This will ensure that McCarthy Group’s aim of total customer satisfaction is achieved.
