Project: - Phase One: 1 relocating 65 personnel; Phase Two: design & feasibility planning
Expenditure: £960,000
Consultancy Timescale: 2 years
Works Programme: 24 weeks
PHASE ONE
Vacation of Regent Square House & Imperial House in Leamington Spa town centre by March 1999 and relocation of the
Commissioning team, Council Tax. M&A provided planning, project management and relocation management services for this phase.
PHASE TWO
Design and feasibility planning for the remaining Business units through to layout sign-off for all areas.
“We set up a series of working groups to address both general house-keeping issues and fundamental services to ensure all aspects of the move would be considered.”
Once the overall scheme was established, a design team was formed to resolve technical
issues and to prepare the tender to select the main contractor.
With all the key personnel having been appointed, M&A chaired regular meetings to cover
budget and programme issues as well as to ensure there was a clear line of communication
throughout the project.
M&A specified finishes throughout the building and designed the public services counters
for the cashiers and Housing / Benefits sections. This needed to ensure provisions for visitors with disabilities.
“It was important the Council was seen as maintaining the standards that they require of other organisations .”
The outcome was successful. The project was delivered as programmed and Warwick District Council are operating under one roof.
