In order to comply with the Health and Safety Commission “Approved Code of Practice” L.8, companies
are under legal duty to minimise the risk of legionellosis by identifying and assessing sources of risk,
implementing and managing precautions,
keeping records of the precautions implemented and
appointing a person to be managerially responsible.
In order to do this, a legionellosis risk assessment must be
carried out by an assessor who is fully versed in the requirements of L.8 (in relation to COSHH and HASAWA ) and the
schematic and technical requirements of the risk assessment itself. This is where McCarthy & Associates
water management team can help. Call us on 024 7646 8866 or contact us today for more information on our
legionellosis risk assessment package.
